the first scan ran for almost 22 minutes. I fixed the add method by escaping the result and re-ran the scan. after about 8-9 minutes it started getting errors. I had close the cloud shell. wonder if that had something to do with it. typo in my fix maybe? The qwiklab was still running.

in cloud editor, when editing main.py, there is a highlighted code error 'undefined name escape' when deploying while ignoring this warning, attempting to add books on the redeployed app returns 500 internal server error pages instead of the expected title input as text
