Like many of the labs I've been taking recently, there are GCP infrastructure issues preventing them from working. In this case, I was not able to select ANY region or zone when creating a VM instance. The dropdown was empty.

First time I opened it I had a location error which wouldn't allow me to choose any location when creating a VM instance. It fixed itself when I retried several hours later but it was a waste of 5 credits. Then the command to install nginx didn't work because the specific version it was trying to install was out of date, thankfully Gemini cloud assistant want able to give me the correct command: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install nginx-light -y

The enable-oslogin was set to true by default for new VMs. This blocked the SSH usage, so I had to set it false to move forward.
