EC2 instance took too long to boot. In fact it still had not booted during the duration time of the quick lab.

To automate the SSH login process I went to the console dashboard, hit connect and copied in the user sting over to the ssh console; as follows. ec2-user@ec2-54-213-121-204.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com
