There should be some troubleshooting info. For example, I hit the browser refresh button while waiting for the instance to start (I should have hit the refresh button within the page), and went back to the console. I found my way back (I was just evaluating the course, I already knew a few things about AWS), but there should be some info in the lab material about how to get back on track. Otherwise, excellent product. Congrats.
