It was useful, but I had to figure out that I don't have to give user-id in the host name to successfully connect to the instance.

fantastic guide... A couple of changes... you have to do chmod 400 (and not 600), and the domain name didn't work, but the public IP did. Great job! You are the best!

Good lab. nit: step 12: default is not t1.micro, instead it's t2.micro. step 16: "Boot from general purpose launch" appears; chose the recommended Make General Purpose (SSD) which appeared to work.

you have to use chmod 400 not 600. would not work if I use public dns. had to use ip address.
