Was never able to log into the AMI as the operation timed out every time. It took 10+ minutes to get to the 2/2 status of ready, and the alarm never finished loading. The lab time ended before the instance was ready to go.

if i use ec2-user as a username that you mentioned in the instruction that i will get a permission denied error. Later i use ubuntu as a username, anyway i finally logged in the remote ec2 instance. And so maybe you guys need to update this instruction for multiple places. And finally thanks you guys' efforts.
