This guide is out of date. The Firebase version is now up to 9.6.x and this guide uses version 7. This lead to mixup in the copied markup code and then make the code incompatible with the web app so the server could no longer be spun up. The intent is good introducing the user to Firebase for authentication, but the student is not able to actually realize the process due to outdated code.
