Stackdriver didn't notice when I shut down the VM. I had to turn it on, then wait 10 minutes until Stackdriver connected properly. It would be nice to have a less vanilla example than just pinging a VM. What about spinning up a database or serverless environment?

Some instructions seem outdated with the current console and it seems a few steps are missed in the instructions.

the lab was fine.. it showed me the basics of using Stackdriver (which appears quite nice). Problem .. I never received the e-mail notification when I stopped the server. I waited 8 minutes (I believe it was a 5 minute policy) and the policy never triggered. A bug or did I miss something?
