Seems a bit inconsistent. Sometimes the function works and creates a thumbnail, other times not. Kept missing the setting of 2nd Generation. Some times different options when creating the trigger were presented and the ones which only had the cloud audit log actions on storage didnt seem to allow the creation of the thumbnail.
