I made the cloud function work and see the thumbnail in the bucket with successful logs, but it is not giving me credit. the documentation is also incredibly unhelpful for something as simple as a quick-start lab. the only reliable sources of information are the previous labs... and those are asking for different things than this one, so there's no real examples for many of the things being asked in this lab. update: after passing this on the 4th attempt, the labs leading up to this had no instruction on the different default service accounts to give permission for publishing to pubsub, so I had to try manually creating the trigger and grant the SA access when prompted in the console, rather than the command line.
