this error message is tricky. Cloud Functions v2 runs on Cloud Run behind the scenes, so even event‑triggered functions can lead to this error if something about the deployment is misinterpreted as HTTP. The error message is sometimes a generic message indicating container startup failure, not necessarily a literal missing listener.
