Needed to do exact command line deploy for the thing to work, while UI-based one did not, despite having exactly same functionality. Needed to run lab again to fix this

It's impossible to finish step 3, at least not without doing it exatly the way lab expects – I spent 40 mins trying to make lab accept the setup of cloud function WHILE THE FUNCTION WAS WORKING. Could you give some more useful logs from it?
